MeetingInZdonov was created and realized by Stan Coenders, hosting since 2007 in Zdoňov, in this huge country house, foreign artists for various residencies and workshops.

 

The rural building was once a flourishing SudetenGerman farm with ca 40 bulls and 40 Ha of grassland and hempf untill 1946. Then it slowly deteriorated under the communist regime. 

In 2005 Stan Coenders bought the house and started renovation and activities in the ruined building, giving birth to the project MeetingInZdonov. 

He kept the atmosphere, the simplicity of details, the sturdy appearance and started art and culture activities.

 

Zdonov is a small near border village in the Czech Republic. The area is known for its beautiful sand stone rock formations and  inspiring nature that invites on site performative art work.
